A little bit of history…
I’ve asked a bit lately how this project has come about…
Mid way through 2009 Claire wanted all her favorite recipes together in one place before she left home. As she was doing that we decided it would be fun to develop a strategy to teach teenagers to cook. Since then it has been an incredible learning curve for both Claire and I - Claire learning from me about food and me learning from Claire about teens! My experience in food, nutrition and cooking combined with Claire’s ability to motivate and engage with kids her age is proving to be a great combination.
So many fantastic opportunities have come our way that is hard to believe it is only just over a year since we thought we would do this.
We have no doubt at all that there is a huge need to teach teenagers to cook. We acknowledge there are literally hundreds of other fabulous food sites and recipe books that whilst being perfect for adults are not quite right for teenagers. Teens are different and need a different style ( as any parent will vouch ‘minimum effort maximum effect’ seems to be their motto on everything!).
With the launch of our first hard copy book Who’s Cooking Tonight? just around the corner – it will be available at the end of this month – we are really excited about what the next year will bring!
A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN SO SUPPORTIVE OF OUR PROJECT!
